ELEFONT is our e-commerce platform for type foundries. It lets foundries present, test and sell fonts – as well as posters, books or T-shirts – in their own online shop.

About the project
ELEFONT is a complete solution for type foundries and typographic studios that want to present and sell their fonts online, together with other products such as specimens, posters, books or T-shirts.
We built it on everything we learned while developing websites and font shops for Typotheque, Fontstand, Indian Type Foundry, DS Type and other foundries. We understand typographers and we know what you need to present your work and run your online business successfully and comfortably.
We designed clean and simple templates for the frontend and built a robust backend with sophisticated functionality. Each shop gets your logo, colours and fonts – and if you need more, we implement your own design.
Every foundry has its own ELEFONT installation, not a share of a common platform. Your data, customers and settings stay separate, and your shop can be extended independently of other foundries.
What ELEFONT does
- automated font upload with family, style and weight, and detection of OpenType features and supported languages
- automatically generated glyph sets and webfont files (WOFF, WOFF2)
- font testers, a font comparison tool and support for variable fonts
- flexible licence types and licence coefficients
- e-commerce with online payments and discount codes, also for non-digital products
- user accounts with purchased fonts, downloads, licence upgrades and invoices
- royalty reports for authors and VAT reports, including MOSS VAT for digital products
- statistics, newsletters and a home page you build block by block
Three ways to start
- Subscription – launch quickly with ELEFONT templates adjusted to your identity, with no large upfront costs, just a monthly fee.
- Standard – a one-off licence with ELEFONT templates or your own design implemented by us.
- Take Away – you own the whole solution, including the ELEFONT licence, and can run it on your own hosting.
Subscription and Standard run on ELEFONT Cloud Services, which we operate and support. Current prices are on the ELEFONT website.
